On this day, I thought I'd take Tim on a tour of the places I remember going/seeing when I was here with my mom and sisters back in 1999. (So, Mom, JoAnna and Katie - some of these are just for you!)
L'Eglise de St Eustache, near Rue de Pont Neuf. I remember this church from years ago!
A little park with table tennis courts in it! If only it hadn't been raining...and we'd had ping pong paddles!
Inside St Eustache. I think last time I was here, we didn't figure out where you could get in.
It's gigantic and beautiful.
And I remember a sculpture of a head and hand in the courtyard near the church. Here it is now.
They're turning the area into a large park or plaza. It should be beautiful (in about 2 more years).
Hey Mom, J & K - recognize this?!
I don't remember it being a Best Western hotel, but I know it was the Ducs de Bourgogne!
We wandered over and 'found' the Louvre. Yes, it's hard to miss.
The pyramids by I.M. Pei at the entrance to the Louvre.
On our way over the Seine, we noticed this bridge. For some reason, people have placed locks along the fencing of the entire bridge. I really liked the old-fashioned locks.
Walking and shooting pictures at the same time. In the rain.
Notre Dame. Also in the rain. It really poured that day, which is why this is the last picture!
Hey there! I LOVE these! Andrew says the locks are there on the river Rhine in Cologne, Germany too! I love you:) Thanks for sharing. I miss that grey, wet city! I hope you have a wonderful time. EJNOY! To the Full:)
